Practice is war, and war is victory.

On May 16, the Xixia Court Reach of the Yellow River was surging and torrential. The emergency monitoring exercise of the Yellow River Commission Hydrological Bureau was conducted here.

"I announce that the Yellow River hydrological emergency drill will officially begin in 2019!" At 1340 hours, with the order of Yuan Dongliang, deputy director of the Hydrological Bureau of the Yellow River Commission and commander-in-chief of emergency drills, more than 30 trained members of the Yellow River Hydrological Emergency Monitoring Team quickly divided their work according to the plan, put on life jackets, took good testing equipment and started their work in an orderly manner.

Face the sudden flood

According to the requirements of actual combat, the drill simulated the real scene. The flood situation was a barrier lake formed by a sudden landslide somewhere in a river. The barrier raised the water level and formed a submerged area, which seriously threatened the safety of people's lives and property upstream and downstream. It is urgent to carry out the hydrological emergency monitoring and forecasting work because of the dangerous situation caused by the river water gushing and discharging.

Aftr the occurrence of the danger, the Hydrological Bureau of the Yellow River Commission immediately started the hydrological emergency survey and forecast program, established the headquarters and hydrological monitoring group, hydrological regime group, surveying and mapping group and logistic support group, quickly assembled the team, shipped equipment and materials to the scene, and used the water, land, air and sky in the barrier area to carry out the multi-habitat survey.

At 1340 hours, all members of the hydrological monitoring team were in place on land.

"Set up temporary section, lay up upper and lower ratio section, Wei Wei-man set up water gauge pile."

"Quote zero elevation, Peng Fei Sijing, Wei Wei Wei-man, Liu He-yuan Fu-chi, Liu She-qiang recorded."

"Observe and record water level values, and pay attention to changes at all times."

Zhang Jiajun, the head of the hydrological monitoring group, arranges the team members according to the actual situation on the spot.

On the river, the stormboat and crew have stopped and waited for an order to start the expedition.

"Take care of your safety and get on board! Seven meters apart, eight vertical lines. Start the test! ____________

UHF Radar Flow Measurement System, Start Flow Measurement.

"Remote control ship-borne ACDP, launching flow measurement."

"Down and down, watch the readings."

After a few brief instructions from Zhang Jiajun, four flow measurement methods, such as flow meter, began to be tested at the same time. Emergency monitoring team members operate in a tense and orderly manner in accordance with hydrological test specifications, and a group of data is accurately measured...

At the same time, the monitoring work of the other two groups is also proceeding in an orderly manner. The surveying and mapping group used GNSS and digital bathymeter to measure the land and underwater sections of the barrier lake area, and established the water level and reservoir capacity curve. At the same time, UAV aerial survey is used to collect data such as the shape characteristics of the barrier body, and output the results.

The water regime set up portable satellite stations, contacted the field headquarters in real time with the wireless dispatching system, carefully analyzed and sorted out various hydrological monitoring data, formed various hydrological element charts, and analyzed and predicted the future development trend. The monitoring results will be transmitted to the information center of the rear bureau.

Considering the accuracy of flow measurement, four different flow measurement methods are compared and analyzed.

"Velocimeter method, flow rate 106."

"Remote control ADCP, flow measurement 4 times average 115."

"UHF Radar Current Measurement System, 106."

"Contrast area method, 140."

Temperature is still rising, the humid heat makes people breathless, sweat pierces the corners of the eyes, wets the face, soaks clothes, emergency drill team members seem to have just been caught in a heavy rain. They transformed the instruments in their hands into spears and plunged them into the turbulent River water. They stood on the laying section and obtained timely hydrological information such as water level, water storage and its change, spillway section, discharge and change process, shape and circumference, height difference and volume of the barrier body.

At 1605 hours, Tao Xin, the head of the hydrological group, reported to the field headquarters: "All kinds of hydrological monitoring results have been sorted out and analyzed and successfully transmitted."

Yuan Dongliang, the commander-in-chief, gave full affirmation to the drill: "This drill is based on actual combat, and emergency monitoring is carried out in areas without information, communication signals and elevation. Team members can strictly follow the plan, operate instruments skillfully, overcome various difficulties, and the results are in full compliance with technical specifications."

The sea is crossing, showing the true qualities of heroes. Facing the sudden flood situation, the Yellow River Hydrological Emergency Monitoring and Exercise Team interprets the hydrological spirit of the Yellow River with strict and compact organization, excelsior professional attitude and skillful operation, and shows the essence of the hydrological top soldiers'hard struggle and rigorous and realistic.

Scientific and Technological Achievements Show Their Skills

This emergency monitoring exercise, the first successful application of the vertical takeoff and landing oil-electric hybrid fixed-wing UAV measurement system and ultra-high frequency radar flow measurement system, which are new achievements of the Yellow River hydrological forecast ability enhancement work.

The eagle can feel the vastness of the sky only when it hits the sky. The fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle CW-20 circles in the blue sky as a king, overlooking the exercise area. "This UAV looks more like a real'aircraft', with a fuselage of 1.8 meters and a wingspan of 3.2 meters. Compared with the previous UAV used for topographic aerial survey, the operation is simpler, no need to glide the take-off and landing sites, the hybrid horsepower of oil and electricity is large, the duration is 3 to 4 hours, the flight speed can reach 100 kilometers per hour, and the operating radius can meet the topographic aerial survey within 50 kilometers. Based on the establishment of the mapping model, the field test results are obtained. Output. At the same time, it can also load about 5 kilograms of different platforms, greatly improving the efficiency of operation, especially for similar emergency monitoring, which is sudden, unpredictable, and site.
