On July 15, the first set of "all-digital UHF radar flow measurement system" was successfully installed at Jingcun Hydrological Station of Xianyang Hydrological Bureau, and a comparative test was carried out.

The system is developed jointly by Wuhan University and Jiangsu Rain Energy Company. It can realize remote control and automatic on-line flow monitoring by using non-contact radar technology. It can accomplish the difficult tasks of traditional flow measurement, such as flood with many floating matter and large sediment content. This project is an important pilot work of Xianyang Hydrological Bureau in 2019. In order to do this work well, Xianyang Hydrological Bureau arranges special personnel to cooperate with the company in site selection, construction, installation and debugging. At present, the instrument is running normally and data acquisition is normal. The error of low water flow in the test is 3%-7%, which meets the requirements of test specifications. The measured data can be formed to meet the test requirements. The flow record spreadsheet required by the specification.

The installation and use of the instrument greatly improves the automation of flow measurement in Jingcun Hydrological Station, greatly reduces the labor intensity of the station, and provides an important platform and technical support for the technical reform of river flow measurement.
